Am i ineligible to get my securtity clearance back?

Former military Dod Secret clearance- no details. Section 8 honorable discharge and 1 gross misdemeanor afterwards (probation and fine no time). Currently a student and would like to know if I am banned from getting another security clearance (as it affects my choice of major and whether i can work the gov't/civ sectors)
