What should I do with the useless trinkets I get for Christmas?

Every year for Christmas my family gives me a lot of trinkets, such as keychains, packs of pencils, and trivia books. I have no use for these things, and want to give them to people who could use them. Is there a charity or other organisation to which I could donate these and other small gifts? If you could also tell me why they are in need of these things, that would be helpful.
